Things To Do in Gniezno

If you're interested in folk culture, head to the Wielkopolska Ethnographic Park (Dziekanowice 32, Lednogóra; tel. 61/427-50-40; www.lednicamuzeum.pl), an open-air park 18km (11 miles) to the west of Gniezno. It has 50 life-sized models of historical folk architecture from the last 250 years. The pieces, from all over the country, include farmsteads of rich peasants, a potter, windmills, a chapel, a cemetery, and a manor house. It's a fair bit of walking, so wear comfortable shoes. It's closed on Mondays. To get there by bus, take any of the buses to Poznan or Pobiedziska, and alight at Komorowo. The park is a 5-minute walk away. By car, take Road no. 5 toward Poznan.
