Access to the ancient château is reserved for visitors of its small museum, dedicated to contemporary Flemish painter Pol Mara (1920–98), a former resident of Gordes. More than 200 of the artist’s works are on display, along with temporary shows. As one might expect, the castle grants spectacular panoramas over Gordes and the surrounding countryside.
