Planning a trip to Grasse

ArrivingTrains run to Grasse from Cannes, depositing passengers a 10-min. walk south of town. From here, a walking trail or shuttle bus leads visitors into the center. Buses pull into town every 10 to 60 min. daily from Cannes (trip time: 50 min.), arriving at the Gare Routière, pl. de la Buanderie, a 5-min. walk north of the town center. The one-way fare is 2.10€.

Visitors arriving by car may follow RN85 from Cannes.

Visitor Information — The Office de Tourisme is at 18 place aux Aires (www.paysdegrassetourisme.fr; tel. 04-93-36-66-66).. For a guided 35-min. glide around town, ride the Petit Train Touristique. This electric vehicle that buzzes around all the top sites daily from 11am to 6pm; tickets cost 7€ for adults, and 4.50€ for children aged between 3 and 12.

Special Events — In early May, Exporose celebrates the most romantic of flowers with a 4-day festival. More than 50,000 blossoms decorate the town's museums, churches, and public squares; highly competitive horticultural shows also take place. Admission is 5€ for adults, and 3€ children 12 and under.

At the beginning of August, Grasse’s 3-day Fête du Jasmin (Jasmine Festival) has been a landmark annual festival since its inception 1948. Expect parades of jasmine-decked floats, complete with Miss Grasse tossing handfuls of the fragrant flowers into the crowds.
