Getting There

Frequent daily train service to Dorking takes 45 minutes from London's Victoria Station or Waterloo Station. The train to Guildford departs London's Waterloo Station and takes 40 minutes. For information, call tel. 0845/748-4950 or visit www.nationalrail.co.uk.

National Express operates buses from London's Victoria Coach Station daily, with a stopover at Guildford on its runs from London to Portsmouth. For schedules, call tel. 0871/781-81-81, or visit www.nationalexpress.com. It's usually more convenient to take the train.

If you're driving to Dorking, take the A24 south from London. If you're driving to Guildford from London, head south along the A3.

Visitor Information

The Guildford Tourist Information Centre is at 14 Tunsgate (tel. 01483/444333; www.guildford.gov.uk). It's open October to April Monday to Saturday 9:30am to 5pm, May to September Monday to Saturday 9am to 5:30pm and Sunday 10am to 4:30pm.
