Getting There -- Hveragerði and Selfoss are both along Route 1. Frequent buses run daily from BSÍ terminal in Reykjavík to both towns, which are routine stops in many southern itineraries. A ticket to Selfoss is around 1,300kr ($21/£11). Þingvallaleið (tel. 511-2600; www.bustravel.is) has one daily bus to and from Eyrarbakki and Stokkseyri via Þorlákshöfn, and one daily runs connects Selfoss to Eyrarbakki and Stokkseyri.

For Selfoss, Eyrarbakki, and Stokkseyri, tourist information is inside the Selfoss library (Rte. 1, just east of the roundabout; tel. 482-2422; http://tourinfo.arborg.is; Mon-Fri 10am-7pm, Sat 11am-2pm).
