Termeden Spa and Resort
If you have an afternoon free, pack your swimsuit and head for this water park. If you've forgotten your suit, you can always buy one (at a markup, of course). Open year-round, this spot is most popular on weekends and in the summer, which means summer weekends are ridiculously crowded. Termeden boasts the first-ever "German"-type spa in Asia, hence the name, which is another Korean amalgam of "terme" ("spa" in German and Italian) and "eden" ("paradise"). It has a bade pool, a large wading pool with both indoor and outdoor sections where you can swim, soak, or get a water massage. You can also get massages for an additional fee, soak in an open-air spa, or scrub yourself in a Korean-style bath. During colder weather, you can also try the stone dry sauna, which feels a bit like being baked in a clay oven. The pools close about an hour before the bath closes and kids 2 and under are admitted free. Tip: If you're wanting a "natural" pedicure by Doctor Fish, it's only W5,000 extra (W3,000 for kids) to have your feet "cleaned" by these skin-eating fish for 30 minutes of ticklish pleasure.
