Ísafjörður's boutique stores and souvenir shops are all arrayed along Aðalstræti and Hafnarstræti. The best bookstore and newsstand is Bókhlaðan Penninn, Hafnarstræti 2 (tel. 456-3123; Mon-Fri 9am-6pm; Sat 10am-1pm), right off Silfurtorg square. For outdoor gear, head downtown to Hafnarbúðin, Suðurgata (tel. 456-3245; Mon-Fri 9am-6pm, Sat 10am-2pm), near the Heritage Museum.
The only dance club in town is Krúsin (no phone; Fri–Sat nights only), but Edinborg is also good for a drink on the weekends.
