Getting There -- If you're driving, see routing details above. You can also drive north from Granada along E-902, a distance of 93km (58 miles). If you're taking the train from Córdoba in the west, it takes only 1 1/2 hours to reach Jaén. There is only one train per day, leaving at 8am daily and costing 8.85€ ($14) for a one-way ticket. There are two trains per day from Madrid, taking 4 to 5 hours and costing 25€ ($40) for a one-way ticket. Trains arrive in Jaén at the RENFE station on Paseo de la Estación (tel. 90-224-02-02; www.renfe.es), north of the center of town.

If you are coming north from Granada, Alsina Graells runs buses from Granada every 30 minutes during the day, taking 1 1/2 hours and costing 7€ ($11) for a one-way ticket. Buses arrive in Jaén at Plaza Coca de la Piñera (tel. 90-242-22-42; www.alsinagraells.es), a block south of Parque de la Victoria.
