Getting There -- The nearest railway station is in Zell am See, 8km (5 miles) north. From here, about 14 buses a day depart for the 15-minute uphill run to Kaprun. (Note: Don't confuse the village of Kaprun with the more southerly and much more isolated ski hamlet of Kaprun Heidnische Kirche, which requires an additional transfer.) Motorists in Zell am See should head west on Route 168 to Fürth, at which point they can cut south on an unclassified road to Kaprun.
Visitor Information -- The tourist office (tel. 06547/8643) is in the town center. Open Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm, Saturday 9am to noon, and Sunday 2 to 6pm.
