Nestled in the cleft of a lush and verdant glen inside Killarney National Park, this delightful B&B could hardly be friendlier or better run. Hosts John and Mary (and their two dogs) welcome guests like old friends; they really take pride in their region, and love to help visitors plan their explorations of the park and the Ring of Kerry. They will organize tours on your behalf and can even provide babysitting in the evenings with a bit of notice. The building itself looks like an old farmhouse, but it is actually contemporary and very well designed, with plenty of authentic materials and exposed stone. Guest rooms are cozy and simple, with wood furniture and decent-sized bathrooms. Ask for a room with a view; the vistas across the surrounding glen are inspiring. Breakfast is served until a very civilized 10am. Dinner isn’t offered, but the place is only a short drive south of Killarney. From the N71, turn east just south of the Muckross Park Hotel.
