Grand in terms of history and appearance, this venerable establishment was converted from the Czartoryski Palace in the late 19th century into the most luxurious hotel in the region. Occupied by the Nazis and left to decay afterwards, the Grand is now restored to its former glory. The rooms echo the decor of the late 1800s, while suites contain some original furniture and detailing. The lobby and other public areas attract a classy clientele and film crews—this was the first hotel in town to gain a five-star status. Pop in for a Viennese coffee or look for cheaper rates in quieter periods.
