Things To Do in La Baule

The most visible nighttime venue is the Casino Barrière de La Baule, 24 esplanade de Lucien Barrière (see above, tel. 02-40-11-48-28). Some areas are stylish, but it can't compete with the glamour of Deauville. Entrance to the slot machine area is open daily 9pm to 4am. The casino has a bistro that serves lunch and dinner daily, as well as a sports bar.

Le Théâtre, 10 av. Pavie (tel. 02-40-60-41-00), is the biggest, splashiest disco in town, noteworthy for the phallic-looking pillar rising from the big dance floor. It's close to the casino, in the heart of La Baule's resort neighborhood. From June to September it's open nightly from 11pm to 4am. The rest of the year, it's open only Thursday to Sunday (same hours).

A stroll down avenue du Général-de-Gaulle or avenue Maréchale-de-Lattre-de-Tassigny will uncover any number of interesting bars and pubs.
