La Fortuna is chock-full of souvenir shops selling standard tourist fare. On the way out of town, when you see a massive collection of wood sculptures, slow down. Onirica Grand Gallery (tel. 2479-7589), located next to La Fortuna’s post office, is worth a stop; it features original oil paintings and acrylics, as well as one-off jewelry and jade pieces.
