You'll find hints of big-city life in Lagos and a devoted cadre of night owls. Especially popular is the unpretentious yet cosmopolitan Bar Mullens, Rua Cândido dos Reis 86 (no phone). Its mock-medieval decor and big mirrors have witnessed the arrival of every sociable barhopper in town. On that same street, Rua Cândido dos Reis, are lots of other hot spots including Inside Out Bar, Rua Cândido dos Reis 119 (no phone), with a fun staff and the largest carte of drinks in town. It usually stays open until 4am. Equally popular is the Red Eye, Rua Cândido dos Reis 63 (no phone), attracting a lot of Londoners and Aussies as well, who pile in here for the inexpensive drinks and the rock music. It's said to be the best place to find a partner (of either sex) for the night. It stays open until 2am. Most revelers at some point in the evening head for Whytes Bar, Rua do Ferrador 7A (tel. 968/13-90-62), where a DJ keeps the joint hopping daily from 8pm to 2am. There's dancing in the cellar during the summer months.
