Quinta do Pôpa
This small family winery has one of the best views and warmest welcomes of any along the Douro. It also has a heartwarming story of an emigrant returning to fulfill his father's dream of owning a vineyard in the Douro where he'd toiled for years as laborer on the estates of others. Today, the third generation produces wines that are a tribute to the bequiffed grandfather nicknamed "Pôpa"—a crested bird. The youthful team invites visitors to taste, tour or lunch at the winery. Their picnics are particularly renowned.
