Getting There -- Virgin Trains operate from London's Euston Station, many of which require changes of equipment in either Crewe, Birmingham, or Chester, and in some cases, all of them. Overall, with waiting time included, it takes about 4 1/2 hours to reach Llandudno from London by train. However, one Virgin train per day goes direct with no changes, taking 3 1/4 hours. During the day, the Arriva Bus Company (tel. 0844/800-4411; www.arriva.co.uk) maintains buses to and from neighboring Bangor. Buses depart every 15 to 60 minutes.

If driving from England, take the M6 to the M56, and then head across North Wales along the A55.
