If you are driving, from San Juan, take Rte. 26 or the Baldorioty de Castro Expressway east to Carolina, where you will pick up Rte. 66 or the Roberto Sánchez Vilella Expressway. The $1.50 toll road will take you farther along Rte. 3, putting you in Canóvanas. Go right, east, on Rte. 3 into Río Grande. The entrance to El Yunque is on the right, and just beyond is the left turn to the Wyndham. The Gran Melía Puerto Rico is also off Hwy. 3.
A hotel limousine (tel. 787/888-6000) from the San Juan airport costs $225 per carload to the Wyndham Río Mar Beach Resort and Spa. A taxi costs approximately $70. Hotel buses make trips to and from the San Juan airport, based on the arrival times of incoming flights; the cost is $28 per person, each way, for transport to El Conquistador; $25 per person, each way, to the Wyndham.
