This handsome Belle Époque structure maintains its original grand facade, though the interior was gutted to construct this pleasant five-story boutique hotel. Location is about as central as you can find in Madrid, edging toward Gran Vía from Puerta del Sol and up the hill from the Ópera plaza. Considerable care was taken with small touches like excellent showerheads and bedside reading lights and rooms are soothing and quiet. While some doubles are quite spacious and can accommodate an extra cot for a child, single rooms are exceptionally tiny.
