La Camaronera Seafood Joint

A casual spot with open kitchen and constant crowds, this is the place to go for fried seafood in various incarnations—sandwiches, platters, and even burritos. The most famous dish here is the pan con minuta, a whole, lightly fried snapper filet (tail included) on a Cuban bun with diced white onions, ketchup,  and tartar sauce. It’s a magnificent mouthful and a sensory overload of crunch, crisp, sweet, tart and briny. The fried fish here are also fierce. For those in your group not into fried, the shrimp or fish of your choice in the tacos are served blackened and are delicious. For a splurge at market price, the whole spiny lobster is seasoned and fried and out of this world. A Monday through Friday happy hour from 4 to 7pm features oysters and beer specials.
