Sexy Fish

The London-imported Sexy Fish is worthy of its name for its over-the-top opulent, glamorous décor, which features art by contemporary masters Damien Hirst, Frank Gehry, and Michael Roberts. The cuisine is meant to evoke an “underwater world inspired with creative menus [and] theatrical cocktails,” and they get that right, with emphasis on being underwater if you’re not prepared for the bill. But let’s not think about that for a minute. Instead, think about the caramelized lamb chops with red kosho, anchovy, and herb salad, or the sweet corn truffled fried rice. Or how about Kombu-cured smoked tuna belly? Then there’s the green asparagus in smoked, creamy ponzu sauce. Signature sushi, too (wagyu and foie gras, among others). For those who want an afternoon delight, Sexy Fish offers an excellent 2-course lunch menu at $32—an unheard-of bargain in these parts. Now that’s sexy!
