Planning a trip to Montserrat, Spain

The simplest way to get to Montserrat is with a Trans Monserrat round-trip ticket which you can buy online, at the tourist office, or any FGC rail station for 46.45€. From Plaça de Espanya, the R5-Manresa line connects every hour with the Aeri de Montserrat cable car, or with the Cremallera de Montserrat funicular, both of which will take you up to the monastery with jaw dropping views. The full trip takes around 90 minutes. Your ticket includes access to the shrine, but it doesn’t let you skip the line.

A more comprehensive Tot Montserrat package at 69.90€ includes admission to the museum, plus a basic self-service lunch.

The tourist office, Plaça de la Creu (tel. 93-877-77-77), is open daily 10am‒5:45pm.
