Packed with fun, interactive displays, this modern, hands-on museum is a must for kids (and even some adults). Experience an earthquake simulator and live science demonstrations, pilot a full-motion flight simulator, and create something in the Tinkering Garage. Along the way, learn something about the environment, physics, and health while you roam around pushing buttons and turning knobs. Adventurous kids and adults can climb up the 75-foot-tall tower and get a glimpse of Nashville from new heights at the top (though it does get claustrophobic and hot up there in the summer, so beware). You can also pilot BLUE MAX, a flight-simulator thrill ride where you can perform daring aerial maneuvers from the safety of a cockpit. For ages 10 and up, the virtual reality experience is a can’t-miss, especially if you’ve never done it before. Choose to walk with the dinosaurs, build a skyscraper, or learn about the water cycle in a Minecraft-style experience. Regular shows at the Sudekum Planetarium take you exploring through the universe. Allow 2 to 3 hours.
