In the airy, white-tiled space on Belmont, a case of house-made salads and specialty cream cheeses beg to be schmeared on the perfect bagel. And those bagels are good! But so is the spectacular challah they bake in house to use for everything from grilled cheese to toast. When it comes to the latter, my favorite is the smoked salmon stack: Smashed avocados, smoked salmon, and pickled onions are stacked on crusty bread for a salty, smoky, creamy bite that brings Jewish deli realness below the Mason-Dixon Line.
