Naro

An offshoot of the Korean tasting-menu-only restaurant Atomix—one of the hardest reservations in NYC to snag, though I’ve always wondered why—Naro raises the same questions for me, especially after downing octopus with granita (flavored ice) and other odd nibbles here. Unique? Absolutely. Craveable? Not for me. Still, unlike Atomix, Naro does offer some a la carte options for folks who want to try husband-and-wife chefs Junghyun “JP” and Jeongeun “Ellia” Park’s food; and its decor uses the lower-level setting to its advantage, creating a space that looks like the top restos that often inhabit tiny spaces across the Pacific.
