Of all the places in Funen, this 1601 house, the former home of Mads Lerche, the town mayor, provides the best insight into what life was like in the 17th century -- that is, if you had some money in the bank. The house, painted a reddish pink, is filled with exhibitions on local history, but far more intriguing than that are the antiques-filled period chambers spread over 30 rooms on two floors. There's even a small brewery on-site, which every home in the 1600s should have had but didn't.
