Around the Island by Rail & Bus -- Funen has a good system of buses and trains that fan out from the central depot in Odense in all directions. Although public transport obviously takes longer than driving a car, it's possible to see the highlights of Funen without your own vehicle. It's also possible to base yourself in Odense, and visit the island's intriguing towns, such as Svendborg, as day trips.
