One for boys and their fathers, this small but enticing museum is housed in old tramsheds and displays vintage trams, buses, and horse-drawn carriages to scramble all over. The highlight of the visit is the guided tour around Oslo on the historical Bussringen bus line; it doesn't really matter that the commentary is in Norwegian as the experience is all about being out and about in an old bus. The greatest hindrance when visiting the Transport Museum is that it is only open three days a week and even then only briefly in the afternoon, but catch it open while you can and you'll be pleasantly surprised and entertained. If you can't visit during their limited opening hours, vintage tram rides operate around the city on the last Sunday of every month.
