PS: hotell
Opened by philanthropists aiming to reintroduce the unemployed back into work, PS: hotell is a newly built hostel in the funky redeveloped Vulcan district of Grünerløkka. It has several large family-friendly suites that come with bunk beds and small kitchenettes as well as double rooms with few frills but more than functional bathrooms and comfy beds. Surprisingly, a classy restaurant is attached to the hotel, where youngsters are taught the art of cooking under the eagle-eyed tutelage of Chef Richard Trælnes; it's well worth a visit even if you're not staying. Another plus point? PS: hotell is located right next door to the food hall Mathallen, where there are plenty more options for dining superbly and cheaply.
