While the beautifully restored Palazzo Sambuca in the Kalsa quarter is one of Palermo’s great baroque landmarks, this ground floor namesake is white and chicly contemporary, with a couple of small, intimate dining rooms. A mother and son team oversees the kitchen while father and daughter tend to guests, serving Sicilian classics on a daily-changing menu. Fish and seafood are the focus—lightly fried baby squid, seafood risottos, simply grilled and baked fresh fish—but land-based classics, including perfectly grilled steak, are given the same reverence; all are part of a warm and elegant experience.
