The Brazilian Court Hotel
This elegant, old-world, Mediterranean-style hotel dates to the 1920s, but like many Palm Beach residents it has a youthful glow, thanks to a recent facelift. The 80 custom-designed, Spanish colonial-style rooms and suites all feature mahogany case goods and crown molding, handsome wood shutters, and king-size beds topped with imported linens. A large hotel by Palm Beach standards (the Breakers notwithstanding), Brazilian Court sprawls over half a block and features fountains and private courtyards. It’s two blocks from the beach and if you’re lazy, the hotel provides complimentary rides to and from the sand. A fleet of old school and electric bikes are also available to explore—the first two hours are included in your room rate. The only downside here, perhaps? A tiny, yet intimate, pool where you feel you have to whisper. A small Jacuzzi hidden from the pool is where shy types and celebs like to hide. Especially swanky is the hotel’s 44-foot Italian Solaris Power Yacht on which guests get free 2-hour tours around the Island, thrice daily from Sunday through Wednesday. An onsite salon will leave you well-coiffed thanks to expert stylists. With the addition of renowned Chef Daniel Boulud’s Café Boulud, which has a fun bar scene with live music, Brazilian Court is one of Palm Beach’s places to see and be seen. The hotel is 6 minutes’ walk from the Intercoastal Waterway; the expansive collections of the Norton Museum of Art are only 1 mile away.
