As you would expect of such a world-renowned resort town, you'll find a wide range of accommodations, but rates are high, ridiculously so in high season. If you'd like to stay in the vertical countryside above town, and provided you are adequately fit, we recommend the agriturismo Rifugio degli Dei, Via Arienzo 43 (tel. 339-8390809; tel./fax 089-811279; www.rifugiodeglidei.it; 80€-100€ doubles), accessed via some 250 stairs and 183m (600 ft.) of footpath; the staff will carry your luggage up from the SS 163.
Staying at a B&B
Given the vertiginously steep prices of hotel rooms in Positano, especially in high season, there has been a huge demand for moderately priced accommodations in recent years; B&Bs and small, guesthouse-style hotels are flourishing.
