Hotels in Queen's County
Cottage courts are to Cavendish as 19th-century inns are to Vermont, or B&Bs are to England -- they're everywhere, and they vary tremendously in quality. They are collections of cottages, all under a single management, and in one location. Great for families, these cottages give kids room to play and adults room to relax. Costs can be similar to one good hotel room, while those with better amenities like pools, privacy, and beachfront will cost a bit more. Cavendish has lots of options ranging from seriously barebones basic to luxurious. Though it’s usually possible to book a cottage when you arrive on island, it’s wiser to book ahead so you get your choice of accommodations.
You’ll find a listing of the options at Tourism PEI and at such sites as VRBO.com and Airbnb.com.

Barachois Inn
Barachois hits all the notes a good B&B should. It’s sent in a 19th century property (the mansard roofed home won a restoration award back in the 1980s) and the décor prettily celebrates the Victorian era with fireplaces, sled- or four-poster canopy beds and pretty wallpaper.…$$Rustico - Campground
Cavendish Campground
There is no way to get closer to the beach at PEI National Park than to camp at one of the two campgrounds—at Stanhope, and this one at Cavendish. The Cavendish campground is within steps of the ocean and several trails that take in miles of beach, marshes, and woodlands. While the…$Cavendish - Hotel
Dalvay by the Sea
No TV, no radio, no phone—Dalvay by the Sea is a place to slow down, stroll the beach at sunset, and enjoy a leisurely dinner in sumptuous fashion after a massage at the spa. The Tudor-style inn with signature high, green gables; curved and enclosed veranda built on stone; and…$$Dalvay - Hotel
Kindrid Spirits Country Inn & Cottages
Loving care—and lots of wicker—has been put into this attractive, family-run inn, set right next to the Anne of Green Gables House. Though the rooms are modern, they have an old-fashioned charm to them, with hand-stencilled walls and floral-patterned quilts and drapes. Some bathrooms…$$Cavendish - Hotel
Shaw’s Hotel
As Canada’s oldest family-operated inn, Shaw’s was named a National Historic Site. Since 1860, the family has welcomed guests from around the world, particularly those from New England in Victorian times. A long walk down a quiet lane gets you to the National Park beach from the…$$Brackley Beach - Campground
Stanhope Campground
Like its sister campground in Cavendish, you can’t get closer to the beach at PEI National Park than to camp here. Over a road from this campground is mile after mile of beach and dune, as well as a 10km (6.5 miles) multi use trail for walkers, bikers, and skaters. There are fewer…$Brackley Beach - Hotel
The Resort at Cavendish Corner
Every variety of accommodations but camping is available at this beachside resort: very simple motel units, a somewhat dated country inn and best of all, cute-as-kittens cottages. The latter are more like small 2-story homes than cottages with fireplaces, Jacuzzis, and full kitchens…$$Cavendish
