Originally a design-centric wine bar with a good and somewhat innovative tapas menu (sliced pickled octopus, small fried sausages, breast of dove, or tuna topped with roasted red pepper), Cepas Viejas has expanded its interior dining room to offer a chef-driven creative cuisine built around oven-roasted meats and fish. The restaurant’s motto translates as “when the barrel is empty, the heart has no joy.” Not surprisingly, it boasts one of the most extensive wine lists in the city.
