Salt Cay Attractions

Aside from the salinas, some interesting architecture remains from the salt-raking days of the early 19th century. The 1834 stone-and-stucco White House was the home of a Bermudian salt-raker; the downstairs is a salt warehouse (tour by appointment only).

The 200-year-old Government House has been acquired by the Turks & Caicos National Trust, which plans to restore this historic property, once the seat of government for the island. For more information, go to http://saltcaypreservation.org.
