A beautiful spot, overlooking the Ventana del Mar park, Budatai is one of those few restaurants that successfully fuse Latino and Asian cuisine into something that tastes great, as opposed to just sounding good on paper. Highlights include the seared tuna with taro tots, halibut with sausage and clams, and the filet mignon with Asian potatoes and mushrooms. The crusted asparagus appetizer is excellent, as are the Geisha and Godzilla sushi rolls. This was the first restaurant opened by Chef Roberto Trevino, who has built up Food Network and James Beard credentials over his career (he now owns several other places in Condaded). The dining room is an understated beauty and the rooftop bar and lounge is an extraordinary location with a tanned and buff crowd.
