Looking for a tasty, inexpensive comida criolla in the middle of the Condado tourist district? Look no further: Café del Angel is the choice from noon to late night. If you had a Puerto Rican grandma, this is what her food would taste like. The mofongos are a specialty, but all the Puerto Rican platters are good. Stick to those rather than the sandwiches and boiler plate U.S. alternatives, which are just okay. Service is friendly, and the bar (and bartender) gets increasingly entertaining as the evening wears on.
