This is a tale of two restaurants. Score a table on the ocean side terrace, and your meal will be a happy one thanks to the lovely views, cooling breezes and food. But woe betide you if you’re assigned an inside table. Not only will you be deprived of views, your enjoyment of the meal will be marred by the constant whirr of activity and acoustics that do not allow for conversation between dinner companions. You also have two uneven choices in the food here, which is a mix of Peruvian and Puerto Rico choices. The closer you stick to the Peruvian side of the menu, the better off you will be. Start with a ceviche or the jalea mixta a combination of golden fried seafood, yuca fries, Andean corn, and salsa criolla. For entrees, try saltado (stir-fry served over French fries and white rice) and tacu tacu (a crunchy rice, bacon, and bean dish) that both come with a choice of seafood, steak, or chicken.
