Sant Feliu de Guixols Travel Guide
A 40-minute drive southeast from Girona, Sant Feliu de Guíxols is a former fishing port with a beautiful harbor. Its natural setting, with sandy beaches and rocky red outcrops jutting into the deep blue sea, make it emblematic of the Costa Brava and there are plenty of reminders of a golden age of tourism going back a hundred years.
The gently curving Platja de Sant Pol is one of the region’s most appealing beaches, lined with stylish bars and restaurants. At its northern end, the luxury urbanization of S’Agaró, built in the 1920s, occupies the rocky headland and offers a wonderful architectural stroll along its coastal path. The surrounding hills, forested with cork oaks, have well-marked hiking routes with splendid views of the coast. Ask at the tourist office for a trail map.
