Iglesia del Divino Salvador

After the marathon of the cathedral, you may feel you’ve had your fill of religious sight-seeing for one day, but your ticket to the cathedral also entitles you to visit this red-fronted Baroque church built around 1700. If it looks solid, that’s because the first attempt to build it, on the site of a former mosque, ended in collapse. It’s worth dropping in to see the impressive, gilded altarpiece, but perhaps the most compelling reason to visit Plaza del Salvador is for its atmospheric tapas bars.
