The Cooper's Inn

Facing the harbor in the Dock Street heritage district, the impeccably historic Cooper’s Inn was built by Loyalist merchant George Gracie in 1784. Subsequent additions and updates have complemented the original building. The downstairs sitting rooms set the mood nicely, with worn wood floors, muted wall colors, and classical music in the background. A tranquil courtyard has a pond and bell fountain. Rooms are furnished in a comfortably historic-country style, one with claw foot tub and wingback chairs, another with four-poster canopy king-sized bed, another with antique reproduction twin beds, and so on. A third-floor suite features wonderful detailing, two sleeping alcoves, and harbor views—worth the extra cost.
