If you only have time for one special-occasion spot, you can do no better than this gracious restaurant set in a gingerbread Creole cottage ringed by the rising Mont Vernon hills. Colorful tile steps lead to a terrace fringed in tropical greenery. Inside, the "Sun and Moon" is all polished wood floors and candlelight, furnished elegantly with period pieces and bold dashes of Creole color. You can dine inside or on one of the terraces, sampling such classic French fare as veal tournedoes or scallops St. Jacques. The pastas are light and flavorful, such as a conchigle (shell pasta) with mixed seafood in a spicy marinara sauce. Sol é Luna also offers studios and suites from $726 a week and up.
