Arriving -- The Luberon is exceptionally difficult to navigate without your own wheels. The most practical train station is Cavaillon, where trains arrive from Avignon’s central station (trip time: 35 min.; 7€ one-way) or Marseille (trip time: 75 min.; 15.30€ one-way). For bus travel around the region, seek out specific towns and route on Trans Vaucluse (www.vaucluse.fr) and Lignes Express Régionales Région PACA (www.info-ler.fr).
If you’re driving to the Luberon from Aix or other points south, take A51 north, then D973 west. Most of the Luberon’s major points of interest can be reached by following D943 north from here. However do consult a map for detailed driving directions.
Visitor Information -- The Office de Tourisme is at 60 place Jean-Jaurès, Apt (www.parcduluberon.fr; tel. 04-90-04-42-00).
