The Grateful Bread Bakery
This bright, pleasant bakery-bistro, known for its fresh-baked bread and pastries, has long been my favorite lunch spot in Pacific City. This is a place that uses as many unprocessed, organic, and sustainable ingredients as possible and always has vegetarian options. The lunch menu is limited mostly to sandwiches (made with that delicious bread), pizza, salads, and daily soups and fish. The fish tacos are terrific; I’m also a fan of their vegetarian chili. If you’re jonesing for a latte this is where to get it; organic coffee is just $1 a cup. Service can be slow, but because you’re at the coast to unwind, that shouldn’t be a problem.
