Just 5km (3 miles) west of Titisee, or 30km (19 miles) east of Freiburg, lies Hinterzarten, one of the major pockets of posh within the Black Forest. You may want to retreat here instead of Titisee, as Hinterzarten is more tranquil and luxurious. In the town stands St. Oswald's, a church constructed in 1146.
