Getting Around

Driving around Torremolinos in a car is no way to spend a relaxing holiday. However, if you're a daredevil in traffic, you might find a bike or scooter rental useful. Be extremely careful, however, as the road conditions along Carretera de Cádiz are extremely dangerous. The best outfitter is Moto Mercado, Plaza de las Comunidades Autónomas, along Paseo Marítimo (tel. 95-205-26-71; www.rentabike.org). A valid driver's license from your home country is required, and you must be 18 or older to rent scooters and motorcycles. Bikes require a 50€ ($80) deposit and are leased at a rate of 12€ ($19) daily, whereas scooters take a 100€ ($160) deposit, plus 28€ ($45) per-day rental. Motorcycles also require a credit card deposit (the price depends on the vehicle), and costs begin at 45€ ($72) per day, going up to 125€ ($200) for the more deluxe cycles. Hours are Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 2pm and 4:30 to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 2pm.

Visitor Information

The tourist information office, Plaza de las Comunidades Autonomas (tel. 95-237-19-09), is open daily 8am to 3pm (Mon-Fri 9:30am-2:30pm in winter).
