If air-conditioning and TV are important to you, this is the place to stay, because Manatus is the only hotel to offer those niceties. Other creature comforts include pretty rooms with hand-painted sinks and comfy four-poster beds bedecked in white muslin mosquito netting. The netting is actually mostly for show, oddly enough, as the net is entirely open at the top and the rooms are well sealed off from bugs. The hotel also has a well-run little spa and a restaurant with Afro-Caribbean dishes, plus an exercise room and art gallery featuring local and regional artists. Manatus is one of the smaller lodges in the area, allowing for a more intimate experience and more personalized service.
