Tucked away down a narrow canal on a thin strip of sand and jungle with a turtle-shaped pool fronting the sea, this is the most isolated of the main Tortuguero nature lodges (it’s about 5 miles from the village). It sits on 175 acres of private reserve with miles of private trails and deserted beachfront. During turtle nesting season, it offers superb night tours, as guests have this section of beach all to themselves. The rooms are rustic affairs set on simple concrete foundations, with walls that are mostly fine-mesh screening.
