It's high romance in the palms at one of the island's top restaurants. A location decidedly away from the beach has not dimmed the evergreen popularity of this upscale spot, nestled in a grove of some 100 towering palms lit for maximum cinematic effect at night. This works as a special-occasion spot (reservations are recommended) as much for the ambiance as for the first-rate, freshly prepared food, from a straightforward grilled Black Angus rib-eye to Asian-inspired dishes such as tandoori-rubbed mahi-mahi or grilled tiger shrimp with jasmine rice and coconut and banana curry. You can make a meal of the starters, including conch, garlic, and potato soup, Peking duck egg rolls, and spicy shrimp soft tacos. Look for Coco the resident cat skittering among the palms, on the hunt for a fishbone or two.
