Planning a trip to Ubeda
The simplest way to visit Úbeda is to take one of half a dozen direct buses per day from Granada. They take 2 to 3 hours and cost 16€ each way. The bus station is on Calle San José in the new part of the city. From there, signs point downhill to the zona monumental.
To drive here, if you're visiting Granada after a previous stopover in Córdoba, you can head east along N-IV (E-5) to the turnoff town of Bailén. If you're going on to Granada without stopping over, you can head straight south along N-323, which will take you to the city of Jaén. You can stop off in Jaén for the night or bypass the city and follow the signs to E-902 into Granada.
Back at Bailén, if you want to visit Ubeda and Baeza (or both), get onto N-322 and head east, following the signs to either Ubeda or Baeza. Ubeda is on the main route, N-322. Baeza, however, is a short drive southwest of Ubeda and is reached by taking a secondary route, N-321.
Parking is available in Plaza de Andalucía, which is also where home to the tourist office (P. Andalucia 5; tel. 95-375-04-40). It is open Monday to Friday 9am to 7:30pm, weekends Saturday 9:30am to 3pm.
For guided tours, contact Vandelvira Turismo, Calle Real, 61 (tel. 65-950-87-66), run by a local family of enthusiastic historians.
Nearby Baeza’s tourist office (tel. 95-377-99-82) occupies a beautiful 16th-century building on Plaza del Pópulo. It is open Monday to Friday 9am to 7:30pm, weekends 9:30am to 3pm.
