Just past Szentendre along the Danube, sits this historic town full of trees and intriguing little streets to explore. It dates back 9 centuries, but I have to admit that it took me 6 years to explore this little beauty. According to legend, there was a monk hermit, Laszlo, who lived in the forest in what is now known as Vác. He prophesied that Prince Géza would win the battle against King Solomon. The prince and the monk came upon a wondrous sight, a deer with candles on its horns. After seeing this, Géza decided to establish a church on this site making it a bishopric, Vác.
